more options

I am using Firefox 28, Google search suggestions does not work since last month!

When I typed a "a" in the bar, it might happen one of the following consequences:

1. It sometimes showed a list of suggestion under the bar 2. It sometimes does not show a list of suggestion under the bar 3. It sometimes showed a list of suggestion under the bar then disappeared after a second...weird!

Anyone can help me?

Thanks in advance.

The behavior of the search box inside the Google home page is determined by Google, not by your Firefox address bar/search bar settings.

sorry, firefox 28 is long deprecated and won't be supported by mozilla or google any more. please start by updating to the latest version (46.0 at the moment) and see if the problem still reproduces there... Update Firefox to the latest release

then please, next to the security software already in place, run a scan with various other security tools like the free version of malwarebytes, adwcleaner & eset online one-time scanner.

Run virus scan? You mean it is caused by malware? I tried but no help...

yes, such error messages on startup are often caused by malware or a corrupted system. if you were running firefox 28 for a long time this wouldn't be particularly surprising either, since it has various known vulnerabilities that can actively be exploited when you use it to browse the web. what was the result of the scan with each of those scanners?

I think you have sidetracked my topic, here you can see what you mentioned "firefox 28 is long deprecated and won't be supported by mozilla or google any more." has been overthrown. Therefore I can exclude the version of firefox as one of the causes.

That's not Firefox, it's a 3rd party build; but if it works - use it!
