I was trying to play Final Fantasy XIV Online today. It installed fine as far as I can tell. When i try to run the launcher I get a message that says:

Cannot launch FINAL FANTASY XIV. Cookies and JavaScript must be enabled under Internet Options. To do so, please carry out the following steps:

1) Open Internet Options. 2) Click the Security tab, then the Custom Level button. 3) Set Active Scripting to Enable. 4) Click the Privacy tab, then the Default button (if available). 5) Click OK.

Shut down FINAL FANTASY XIV.

The only browsers I have installed on my computer are the IE it came with and Firefox 46.0. IE has the active scripting on. Firefox is set as my default. I've also the the about:config. Javascript is enabled according to it. Not ever had this issue before but I've also never tried to play FFXIV Online before either.

Hmm, launcher, what is going on there -- this isn't the usual kind of Flash or Java-based game?

Honestly I'm not sure. My co-worker and his friends play and really enjoy it so thought I'd give it a try. Don't really know anything more than that other than I just updated Firefox today before I downloaded the game.

Does it work in Internet Explorer? Since the instructions were for IE, I'm assuming it should...
