I am using Mac Book Pro with MacOs 10. When I try to open Youtube I get to hear the sound but there is no visual. If I switch out of Firefox to Safari I can nearly always access both sound and image. But I prefer to use Firefox. What do I have to do to get full access to youtube?

If you have problems with current Shockwave Flash plugin versions then check this:

  • see if there are updates for your graphics drivers

https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration

  • disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)

  • disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin
