My Calendar and Task tabs are not there anymore in Thunderbird. How do I restore them?

This happens once every couple months or so. The options to select the Calendar and Tasks in the View pull-down menus are also not there. Usually I've found that if I re-install Lightning, then restart Thunderbird, it will bring the options to select Calendar and Tasks back into the View pull-down menu, but they are grayed out. After re-starting Lightning, I've found two icons at the top right of the window for the Calendar and Tasks. I click those and it brings everything back just fine.

This whole process seems a bit laborious to just show the Calendar and Tasks, which should be there each time I open Thunderbird. I shouldn't have to keep re-installing something to have these standard things show up. Is there a way you can fix that?

Thunderbird versions have a matching Lightning version. The problem that you describe is usually because of Thunderbird updating and you not updating lightning. After an update there is usually a message about updating add ons. Do not skip this step.

That answers a little bit. However, I don't recall ever getting a message about updating add ons. Thank you.

There might be a setting in options for that. I am on an Android tablet right now so I cannot access Thunderbird to check.
