Windows automatically downloaded updates to my computer when I opened it this morning. Later when I opened my e-mail, it looked different and didn't operate the same as in the past. I got a message at the top of my mail that said that I was only able to view "basic" e-mail and that I needed to update my browser. So, I clicked on update assuming it would be the same and it was Firefox that I downloaded. When I tried to sign in as prompted, it said that my user name was incorrect and now I can't access my e-mail at all. I do not want to change my e-mail--I want it back like it was before the Windows downloaded updates. How can I do this? I am not that savvy on computer technology! Please advise!

So just to get the complete picture:

  • Your regular browser is Internet Explorer 11, the browser you used to post this question?
  • You access your email on... what website? For example: Yahoo, Gmail, Outlook Mail.
  • The problem you have signing in to your email is when you use... Internet Explorer 11? Firefox? The new Edge browser? All three?
