I uninstalled real player but the download feature is still in Firefox and is making the computer unstable. How do I rid myself of Real Player in Firefox? Real Player is currently not listed in the lists of plugins or extensions, but the download button is still at the top of the browser, and the feature is still active.

Chosen solution

I rid myself of Real Downloader.... Had to go to Safe Mode and in the search bar typed C:\Program Files (x86). Then chose real from the programs and deleted it. Thanks for all of your efforts!!!

Open the computer’s Programs Folder. Look for and remove Real anything.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.

Real has been removed. It is embedded in Firefox. I even went to the registry and deleted the entries under the software section, but every couple of days real reenters the registry values again.

Is Real listed as a plugin, or as an add-on?

If Real was removed from the computer, it would be removed from Firefox.

Did you remove Real Anything?

Real is completely removed from the computer. Real is not listed as a plugin, add-on, or extension but the download drop down is still at the top middle of the browser and is active, and still adds itself to the registry list of programs even after being removed.

There's a bit of confusion here : In your initial question you mention two different things : 'Real Downloader' and 'Real Player' Which one is it  ?

Real Down loader is part of Real Player. I uninstalled real player but the the firefox plugin is a leftover file that will not go away.

Like FredMcD asked you earlier : would it be possible for you to provide a screenshot  ?

When I go to this website and try to download the removal tool my security programs Malwarebytes, and Esset block the site, because that site is on a list of planting malware on computers
