I had hundreds of emails just randomly vanish on their own, but they still appear in Thunderbird. Even though the TB emails are still there, and only the Yahoo Web emails have disappeared, the Yahoo Help Forum has stated that there is a conflict between Yahoo Web Mail and Thunderbird. In their words : "Be aware that a POP or an IMAP client may have deleted your messages. POP and IMAP clients are applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird" I have searched this forum, but can only find cases where the lost emails are the ones in TB. But if they still appear in TB, and only vanished on Yahoo Web Mail, and according to Yahoo, the cause is in TB - then what do I need to do in Thunderbird to restore or recover those lost/disappeared/deleted emails ?

11 Accounts and ALL with yahoo... you must be a loyal customer.

right click the problem account in the folder pane and select settings and make sure that the option in server settings to "leave mail on the server is turned on.

Yes, currently it is clicked. However, it is possible that it was unclicked for a while, as I seem to remember that scenario. If that is the case, are the emails lost or can they be recovered ?

They are not lost... they are in Thunderbird. Can you pop mail account put them back on the server? No it can not.

Can an IMAP account do it? Yes it can. Would I recommend it. No I would not.

Thank you. Is there any way to edit a post on here ? I am concerned that within all those codes that I pasted, that it might contain sensitive information.

You click the button on the web site beside the post..... But the troubleshooting information contains nothing of a personal nature and have already been emailed to the three people who "have this problem".

My instructions here Tell you "Do not check box "Include account names"! " As you followed that instruction, the only personal information, the account names is not on the forum.
