asking for master password never set one up don't have passwords on thunderbird

can't send emails because asking for master password, which I've never used. So I changed gmail password and can login with no problem, but not on thunderbird. I've read the forums but there doesn't seem to be a fix for this.

Go to Tools|Options|Security and disable the Master Password.

I tried to do this already, however before I can disable I have to entry master password
