When I open an email, for example from the NY Times, the links to articles open a new tab; however, nothing is in it. I can't read the articles. The url shows in the bar, but nothing is on the page. It's blank; white. This works fine in my other browsers. How can I solve this dilemma? Thanks.

Have you tried pressing the page reload key? Sometimes the links posted go thru a third party website. Right click on that link, select Copy Link, and post it here.
