Since a while my TB only runs in safe mode or with Lightning disabled.

Otherwise I get loads of "unresponsive script" messages concerning:

Script: chrome://calendar/content/calendar-task-tree.xml:1010 Script: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/minimonth.xml:531 Script: chrome://calendar/content/widgets/minimonth.xml:547 Script: resource://calendar/modules/utils/calUnifinderUtils.jsm:111 Script: chrome://calendar/content/calFilter.js:728 Script: chrome://calendar/content/calendar-ui-utils.js:89

neither continuing nor stopping the script helps.

I'm running on Linux Mint 18.1 64bit; TB 60.4.0

I do not even miss my calendar so much on my computer, but unfortunately somehow surprisingly it also means that my contacts are not synchronized anymore. I don't know why the disabled Lightning also stop the functioning of the SOGoConnector.

Happy about any advice! Thank you very much! Rouven

I can't explain why SOGo and Lightning are apparently incompatible, but I suggest you try the TbSync/Provider for CalDAV & CardDAV combination instead (supports SOGo).

https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-us/thunderbird/addon/dav-4-tbsync/

Be sure to get v. 0.14, which has some fixes for SOGo.

Thank you for the hint, at least the address-book is again up-to-date. The calendar problem continues, obviously, because also TbSync needs Lightning, which keeps making TB unresponsive.

I have this issue with the Script errors but on a Windows 7 Pro machine. It slows my computer to a crawl but stops interfering when I stop the script, until it comes back. I no longer use the calendar or contacts in Thunderbird and would just like to uninstall lightning. The add on <extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}> does not have a Remove button or any mention of remove. Anyone know how to just uninstall lightning? TIA

I'm glad the contacts sync is working, but can't explain the calendar errors, as Lightning installation works differently in Linux. If you can't update TB to the current release, 60.5.2, and with it the appropriate Lightning, maybe you can download Lightning from the add-on page.

I don't know why you don't see a Remove button for Lightning in Tools/Add-ons/Extensions, as it is there in my W7 setup (see picture). Perhaps it looks different if you run in safe mode (hold Shift when you launch TB).

Also, the Lightning extension is contained in the file {e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}.xpi in the extensions subfolder of the profile folder (Help/Troubleshooting Information, click Open Folder to open the profile folder). The preference extensions.installedDistroAddon.{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103} in Tools/Options (Linux:Edit/Preferences)/Advanced/General/Config. editor is true if Lightning is enabled. Double-click to toggle the value (false will disable), or right-click, Reset, and possibly repair Lightning after a TB restart.
