When I delete a message - Thunderbird freezes. When I try to open Trash folder - Thunderbird freezes. When I try to open properties for the Trash Folder - Thunderbird freezes. Running Thunderbird in safe mode does not fix the problem. I followed these instructions partially https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/cannot-delete-messages. Instead of deleting both Trash files, I cut them out of the core folder and put them i a new folder on my Desktop. Then I restarted the PC, run Thunderbird - nothing changed. The reason why I did not delete both Trash files is that I am afraid that I'll delete all of my emails from Thunderbirds trash folder. On some occasion I have to check emails that are sometimes in the Trash folder. Also, tried to reinstall Thunderbird, without deleting it first and also nothing changed. Any advice on how to fix the issue?

Never mind. Forgot that all of my data, including Trash folder, is stored in a different folder. Cut two trash files out, put them on a desktop. Opened Thunderbird - new files appeared and Trash folder was empty. Replaced new, empty Trash files with the old ones and the problem was fixed.
