Unable to scroll on THE GUARDIAN website.

more options

For the last couple of months, I have been unable to scroll down on THE GUARDIAN website. I have contacted them and tried a number of the things they suggested to no avail. It was suggested the browser may be the problem. I do not have this problem with any other website. Use Windows 10

I use a number of options/tools/add-ons from Mozilla/Firefox (79.0): Ghostery, AdBlockPlus, PrivacyBadger, NoScript, Forget, and FlashBlocker.

Any idea on how to solve this problem would be very greatly appreciated. Anybody else have this or similar problem?

Thanks.

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache.

If there is still a problem, Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Did this help?

While you are in safe mode;

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration in Firefox. Since this feature was added to Firefox it has gradually improved but there are still a few glitches.

Along the above lines:

Many media sites display an overlay asking you to subscribe. During this display, they turn off scrolling of the body. If one of your add-ons strips off the overlay without also addressing the scrolling, then you may end up in this situation. So that's definitely worth checking out.

You could look at whether Reader View is available. More info on Reader View in this article: Firefox Reader View for clutter-free web pages.
