Thunderbird has been working flawlessly with my GMAIL IMAP account for some time. But I updated my GMail password on all platforms today and even though I have updated the password in Thunderbird, It stopped downloading email.

To make sure I changed my password again in Gmail and made sure that I entered the correct version in Thunderbird but for several hours I just get the spinning circle when looking at Gmail in Thunderbird.

My other email account in Thunderbird is working and Gmail is receiving mail on the other platforms.

I have repeatedly checked that server settings were not changed.

Since you updated the password in TB, it suggests you're using 'normal password' authentication instead of OAuth2, for the incoming and outgoing. Remove the passwords from Saved Passwords, switch to OAuth2, check that cookies are allowed in TB Options/Privacy & Security, then restart TB and enter the account password in the OAuth2 window when prompted.
