Firefox on iOS crashed when I toggles the inactive tabs button on and off and I had about 48 tabs as well 300 + private tabs open for years and when I clicked on the restore tabs button, it did not work and nothing came back. Can you please help me restore the session? I really need those private tabs back so I can save them accordingly. The history is there for the normal tabs but the private ones are the ones I really need back. I just need to be able to restore that session. I can provide log files as needed. I would really appreciate it. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you've encountered with Firefox on iOS. It sounds frustrating to lose those tabs. To help you restore your session, you can try a couple of steps. First, you can attempt to force close Firefox by swiping it away from the app switcher and then reopen it. Sometimes, this can trigger a session restore. If that doesn't work, you can also try signing in to your Firefox Account if you have one. This might sync your tabs across devices, including the private ones. If these steps don't work, please provide any log files you have, as you mentioned, so that the technical team can investigate further. We're here to assist you, and I hope we can help you retrieve those important tabs. Thank you for reaching out, and I appreciate your contribution to our Firefox community.

Hi Suram080, I did try to force close right away from the app switcher and reopen, but it did not do anything. I also tried to sign into my firefox account, but it only made the non-private tabs reappear, not the private ones of which i had hundreds open. I had not bookmarked them because there is no quick way to bookmark all open tabs on firefox ios. There is no shortcut, which is extremely inconvenient. That is the reason I had not bookmarked them, because it would be a manual process. However, i did not expect for this crash to happen and me not be able to restore them despite hitting the restore button. Can you please tell me the steps on how i can provide the log files? I can only attach images here and not .ips file. I had gotten this by going to settings > privacy and security > analytics and improvements > analytics data. Also, are there other logs i can provide from the firefox side? Please let me know as soon as possible.

Thank you

Hi

This article will walk you through getting both crash logs and Firefox logs. When you have them, please file them here (a GitHub account is required) so that our developers can look into this further for you.

I hope that this helps.
