I been using Thunderbird for donkeys years and Adding Contacts used to be simple'

I can still add contacts directly from the inbox email details. B I cannot EDIT existing contacts or create a new contact through the EDIT or New Contact function. As soon as I click EDIT or on New Contact the address book greys out. I can enter names and other details but "Save" does nothing. Very frustrating. What is causing this.

This works for me: Open your address book and RIGHT-CLICK on the name you want to edit. This gives you a short dropdown menu. Click on Edit in that menu. Make the changes in the appropriate fields on the right and click Save.

Does the same thing happen in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)? If it still happens in safe mode, create a new test address book, add a contact, and see if the edit operation works.
