When looking at my list of folders after download, the SPAM folder doesn't seem to update the count of unread messages until I specifically open it. I miss the fact I have spam unless I specifically go in and look. Is this a function/feature of JUST the SPAM folder (all other folders seem to have their counts updated after a download). On Thunderbird 115.12.1 64 bit if that is of interest.

Chosen solution

Thank you Matt for your prompt reply. I modified the properties of the SPAM folder and we'll see what happens. I'll get back to you.

Five minutes later: Yes, this worked! I did receive about 4 spams since I posted that earlier sentence above and it the count did get updated before I opened the folder. Thank you!

That is as expected. the spam folder, the deleted folder and I think the send folder are not set to get mail when new mail is fetched.

You can right click the folder in the folder pane and select properties and include then in get mail activities if you like.
