Can't locate the tool selection at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unified-toolbar
(Just upgraded to 128.2 64 bit - but I can't find the selection screen shown on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/unified-toolbar.
I want to have a clickable shortcut to Next Message. Why? Because as I'm reading and reply to some of the messages, I have the mouse in my hand. It's a pain to switch to the keyboard to hit N or F. And I always forget the letter to go to the previous message.
Also -- after I delete a message that I just read from the trashcan icon, despite having more messages to read, even in a thread, the view goes back to the Inbox. I'd want to see the next email, not the list. For all its advanced features, this seems to be basic email reading. Maybe I missed an option?

Right-click the Unified Bar (the one with the search box), Customize..., drag the Next button onto the bar as shown in the attached picture, click Save.
The deletion behaviour you see doesn't happen here. Deleting a message in one folder doesn't switch to the Inbox. Did you upgrade with a profile used in older versions? Does the same thing happen in safe/troubleshoot mode (hold Shift when launching TB)?
I don't see what you're showing ..... The image shows what I see.... (and I did check the menu on the upper right with the horizontal lines.
And when I delete a message, the next message doesn't show. I get the full Inbox.
Both done Safe/Trouble-shooting mode, that is..... I closed TB and held Shift when I launched TB).
