Issues with video performance

For the past few months, videos on YouTube haven't been playing properly. They load just fine and there's no issues with the auto, but once the video starts playing it will sometimes be zoomed into the top left corner, making it impossible to properly see what's going on.

This happens with music videos too, both official and lyrical. It will be zoomed in close to the top left corner and just barely catches what's going on in the video. Sometimes, video do play like they're supposed to, but for the most part, they'll be zoomed in as soon as I hit play.

Chosen solution

The problem with YouTube was fixed in version 132.0. Thank you very much and now I don't have to choose a new browser for desktop and Android.

My apologies for the very delayed response. I am also unsure if I am doing this correctly, so please excuse me if I get anything wrong.

Yes, I do indeed have an extension installed, but I have never experienced issues with it nor have I heard stories about people who have had a bad experience with the extension. The problem didn't arise until about Mid-July, if I remember correctly.

After updating the Firefox app, videos started have performance issues. I have also noticed that sometimes the issue persists even when I select the "Desktop Site".

Hi

What is the make and model of your Android device?

I am hearing that other people are having this issue. Would you be willing to help us to fix this? - we might have a few more questions for you.

That is very interesting. I was working with someone earlier that had the same problem on the same phone. Can you provide a screenshot of YouTube when this issue is occurring?

  • Does this issue prosiest using any other browser?

I have taken multiple screenshots of this issue, both with desktop on and turned off. I have also taken screenshots of the same issue happening with YouTube Shorts. Similar to videos outside of YouTube shorts, some work and some don't, especially in desktop mode.

I only use Firefox, so I am unsure if the video issue persists on other browsers.

I have the same problem. YouTube on Firefox Android is not working properly for several months. All videos are enlarged. I tried other browsers Via Browser, Brave, Chrome - there are no problems with videos on YouTube anywhere. The latest version of Firefox Android 131.0.3 is currently installed. Android version 10. Phone - Huawei Mate 10. This model has official Google Services and is fully supported. The problem is definitely not that it is Huawei.

I cleared the cache files several times, reinstalled Firefox several times - nothing helps.

In the screenshots you can see how the same video works on Firefox and Via Browser.
