Hello I recently added a Uniswap browser extension to my desktop from your extensions tab. It is a bad program and it has stolen my seed phrase and subsequently all of the crypto from my metamask wallet. How is this allowed to happen?

That is up to the Devs of the Addon to answer your concerns about using their Addon.

Not sure which Uniswap extension you are referring to as for example https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/search/?q=Uniswap

However the reviews on https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/uniswap/reviews/ has a couple that claims to be stealing private keys.

You can try to report the extension you are referring to and perhaps post about your issues with the extension at https://discourse.mozilla.org/c/add-ons/35

With crypto / wallet related extensions you should read the reviews first and be weary if it appears to be a newer extension or with only a small number of users. There have been some such extensions ending up on the extension blocklist before. Mozilla does not make it as easy to find out about blocked extensions anymore however there are six wallet extensions on this older list https://blocked.cdn.mozilla.net/
