when clicking a link from email, firefox is launched, flashes the new page for an instant, then immediately displays my home page with no evidence of the new link opening. I have to reclick the email link to display it in firefox. what to do?
Example: I receive a link by email (Firefox is unopened). When I click the link in the email, Firefox launches (it still takes quite awhile!). Firefox flashes the new link page for a split second, then redirects immediately to my default Home Page. To open the original email link, I have to make my email app. active, and click the link again. Firefox then opens the link site page, and everything runs normally again. PS: when Firefox first opens the new link (which immediately disappears) and then displays my Home page, the is no record of the new address in History and no Back Button active. You ask below how often this happens. It happens every time Firefox is launched from an email link. If Firefox is already open, a link from email is directly opened without a problem. Hope you can help.

Problem solved: erratic modem behavior from cable ISP. Once the signal to the modem was strengthened, Firefox symptoms disappeared. (From original poster)
