In the previous versions of firefox, I could stop my downloads in the middle, shut down my computer, restart and continue my downloads from that point on... but that doesnt seem to be the case with 3.6... I have to restart my downloads from the very beginning ... can you help me with this problem?

This happened

You can pause downloads, then resume them later, this should work even after closing Firefox.

Does it help if you remember Downloads: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: "Remember download history" ?

Also make sure that you do not use Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox to clear the download history
