flash blocks some vital keystrokes (ctrl+t, f11). how can I override this?

when flash content is in focus I cannot use any keystrokes (ctrl+t, ctrl+tab, f11, just to name the most used ones)

No, that is currently not possible. You will have to click with the mouse outside that Flash object to make keys word with the user interface.
