Hi,

I am coming back to you (from IE, FF continues to crash), because I have more and more problems. I don't know why I appear as Jenleib, I was as Allwyna, strange, but it is me :)

I have version 3.6.8, but now I get a lot of different error messages: general failure, not enough memory, Runtime error. And still plugin.container.

Can you tell me what happens? Is FF so bad, now? Do I have to switch to another browser? I am in panick mode.

I ran it in Safe Mode, it opened, but I didn't know what else to do. That doesn't mean it worked?

I have a crash report from Nov 1, but thare have been a hundred since.

You posted a Firefox 4.0 b6 crash report.

Did you use your current Firefox profile folder with that 4.0 b6 version?

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile

There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"

If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox

Hi,

Thanks for your answer. I was reluctant to create a new profile, since I already have 2... and a lot of duplicate information. But you give me an important info: how to transfer some files.... so I can get rid of one profile (I hope I won't have those files once more).

I use (and have used) my second profile in FF 3.6.11, then 3.6.12, also in the beta version. It seems I have some Java problems, although Java is disabled. Hmmm... I have those crashes in all versions, and they are not all reported.

It is a bit difficult to follow your instructions if FF is closed, but it is going to crash very soon anyway, so I copied all I could in a Word doc.

I will let you know.

Regards

Sorry, I edited my message several times, but I am so scared not to be able to go to the end that I can't re-read or preview.

Coming back for more help...

I creatred a new profile (and saved a lot of data), but it doesn't work better, and I just realized that the new profile (I gave it a different name) doesn't exist.

In C:......Mozilla\Firefox, there are only my 2 previous profiles.

Can you please tell me what I did wrong (and how to do right) so it is recognized. I will then try to transfer my data, which doesn't seem easy either.

Thank you very much
