I have no favourites star next to the home symbol, therefore no favourites.

I followed the tour, I should have a favourites star, to click on. I cannot find it. According to the tour of firfox, it should be on the right-hand side of the page, at the top, next to the 'home' symbol. But my page does not go any further to the right than the home symbol.

Are the favourites located elsewhere?

You should see that star on the right hand side of the location bar, where you type the address of the website.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

Thankyou for your reply. But like I said, the star is not anywhere. Unless you mean the faint one, on the right inside the location bar, used for making a bookmark.

Yes, that is the star that I meant. That bookmarks the current site.

If you mean the Bookmarks Menu button that opens the Bookmarks drop down list then you only see that button on the Bookmarks Toolbar if the Menu bar is hidden or if you've placed the BMB button on another toolbar.

You can find that Bookmarks Menu button in the toolbar palette on the Customize window and drag that button on a toolbar.
Open the Customize window via "View > Toolbars > Customize" or via "Firefox > Options > Toolbar Layout"
