Downloaded firefox to new HD. Start page opens. Small box window showing firefox icon (ball) to drag to apps icon opens on top of start page & firefox icon (looks like the HD) appears on desk top, the same as when 1st downloaded. Close box window, drag icon from desktop to eject, Firefox still on apps after doing this, so know its in my apps. Alternate Foxfire browser with Safari at this time. Never had a problem before with Foxfire. More info-- Firefox icon on desktop, listed on Finder under Devices along with HD & iDisk. As long as keep it there, don't get the other window.

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.
Open the DMG file and drag the Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive.
You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.

Do not see a .dmg file. If had one before & I think I did, would have dragged to trash. The icon on desktop looks like the dmg file but is orange & only name is firefox. Drag this icon to trash. When click on app, icon comes back up on desktop & box opens to drag ball icon to app & right after home window opens, I close the box & everything works fine. If leave the icon on desktop, I can close & open firefox window, no problem. Should I deinstall & reinstall? FOUND the DMG file in download folder. Opened it, box with FF icon & App folder, moved to app folder, asked if wanted to replace app already there, yes. Dragged DMG file to trash. Opened FF same problem, small box & icon on desktop.

When I found the .dmg file & dragged to trash, had not emptied trash. Checked Disk Utility, saw it located in trash. Emptied trash, Gone. A-OK now. Tnx Cor-el.
