I'm having all kinds of problems using Firefox in Facebook ever since it updated to 15.0.1. So I reboot WIN XP and try to open Firefox. When I do, it opens 2 windows split in half. The top is the correct window, the bottom says "This might void your warranty! Changing these advanced settings can be harmful to the stability, security, and performance of this application. You should only continue if you are sure of what you are doing." The only way to get rid of the window is closing Firefox. There's no other way to close it. If I click "OK" it then takes me to a page that has a search bar with a bar below that that says "Preference Name/ Status/Type/value" with a bunch of writing below it like the stuff the program is written of. How do I get rid of this window and how do I get FF to work on Facebook?

Your screenshot shows the about:config page where you can inspect and modify all Firefox settings.

What is the home page setting?

Do you have an extension that can split the window horizontally?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

  • Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

If you do not keep changes after a restart then see:

OK, I started in "safe mode" and the split window that showed the "about: config" disappeared. I fixed the other problem with FB on my own before seeing this reply. I have no idea which "add on" would cause this "about: config" to happen. Any clues?

scratch the last. I found "Tweak Page" & "Last Page" was causing my problems. I disabled both & so far everything seems to be working OK.

...not "Tweak page" but "page tweak"
