I inadvertently downloaded firefox from a site other than mozilla.org (I think..). Just wondering if this is a problem or if the site is affiliated?

Chosen solution

Firefox for desktop is not just for Windows as it is for Mac OSX and Linux also.

Also this quote on site is something Mozilla has never done.

This site distributes software via a download manager install system. In addition to managing the download of your selected software, the download manager will make recommendations for additional commercial offers that you may be interested in. Additional software may include toolbars, browser add-ons and other types of applications.

mozilla.org is Mozilla official site the other link (in your question, is not) NEVER download Firefox from anywhere else than from mozilla.org There is a very great chance for malware and unwanted programs.

You should check for malware

xtremedownloads is known to distribute adware and hijackers together with software. E.g. registry cleaners that you do not need, or they replace search settings. I would recommend scanning with anti-adware programs.
