I have recently downloaded some add-ons, for the first time, and since then google image searches on display about eight images. Deleting the add-ons, except for Flagfox, has not helped.

Can you attach a screenshot?

  • Use a compressed image type like PNG or JPG to save the screenshot
  • Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum size of 1 MB

I hope this helps.

If images are missing then check that you do not block images from some domains. Check the permissions for the domain in the currently selected tab in "Tools > Page Info > Permissions"

Check "Tools > Page Info > Media" for blocked images

  • Select the first image link and use the cursor Down key to scroll through the list.
  • If an image in the list is grayed and "Block Images from..." has a checkmark then remove this checkmark to unblock images from this domain.

Make sure that you do not block (third-party) images, the permissions.default.image pref on the about:config page should be 1.

There are extensions like Adblock Plus (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) and security software (firewall, anti-virus) that can block images and other content.

I followed the link to http://kb.mozillazine.org/Images_or_animations_do_not_load but can't complete the first step "For Firefox, under the "Content" tab, make sure that "Load images automatically" and "Enable JavaScript" are both checked (both are checked by default) and that there are no exceptions". as neither of those options are under the content tab.

Those two settings have been removed from the options window some time ago. You can skip those steps and other steps that do not apply to the current Firefox version.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.

It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.

Okay, I've followed those steps and still can't get more than eight images on a google image search. All emails and websites show all images and animations without any issues........

Two months later I am still having the same problem.

Only eight images appear on a google image search with firefox but there are no issues on windows explorer.

I've uninstalled and the installed forefox again to no avail.

Boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) as a test to see if that helps.

If it works in Windows Safe mode then you likely have a problem with other software, possibly security software or a system driver, on your computer. You can check possible advanced settings in your security software for Firefox. Also make sure that you have the latest updates of your security software and hardware drivers.
