When providing updates, do so on closing vs opening for more speed opening - possible??
When selecting a browser, I first look for speed in opening. One way to speed Firefox's opening is to have any updates loaded on closing. Is this possible?

Firefox creates a special updated folder when you close Firefox after updating, so files in this folder only need to be moved to the current Firefox program folder. This shouldn't take much time unless some security software should keep handles on files. You would normally want an application to close as quickly as possible and do possible time consuming actions on the next start.
If you see how long Windows takes to apply updates you wouldn't want to wait that long to close down an application or the computer.
You can always restart Firefox if you want to apply updates and close Firefox once this is finished to have Firefox start immediately the next time.

you can have Firefox only check and notify for updates and you decide when to update Preferences > Advanced > Update
