There already is an ancient (about Firefox 3.*) archived question: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/791816?fpa=1

Now the "Ctrl+J" shortcut is "Focus search bar", as per https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts-perform-firefox-tasks-quickly

Is there a shortcut for this in Firefox version 59 or later?

Oh, I didn't know the menu item for Downloads was still in "Tools". On Ubuntu 16.04, Firefox 59.0.2, the shortcut is Ctrl+Shift+Y
