Looked up a lot of solution online, but none seem to work. Tried creating a new profile, but the profile manager does not open. I get the same error message when I try to run "firefox.exe -p". App Data does not have a "profiles.ini" file. The only two folders in the Firefox folder are "Crash Reports" and "Pending Pings"

Firefox has a Profile folder in two separate locations in AppData.

The one you found is likely in the Local path, where the path you need to see the profiles.ini file is in the Roaming path.

That is the correct location for the main profile folder. There should be a profiles.ini file present because otherwise you wouldn't get this error. You can try to remove the Firefox folder to the Mozilla folder

  • C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\

You can also try to remove the folders in the location for the temporary files (cache) in "AppData\Local" in case there are permission issues.
