Hello, Whenever I manually configure an account - I'm asked to re-enter the Password very time I restart Thunderbird. This happens even when Thunderbird has confirmed that the IP and other configuration information are in the Mozilla Database (I pull enough of the configuration information in using the automatic setup to confirm that Mozilla 'can see' and validate the account - which is confirmed by the hitting 'Re-Test' button. When I hit re-test, Thunderbird comes back and tells me that it has validated the account).

So if Thunderbird has validated the account - why does it keep asking me to re-enter the Password (it does this even when I click the option to 'Remember the Password')?

My use case - is that I want to manually configure so that I can tell Thunderbird to only sync 6 months of emails (using the Account Manager).

Another issue is that even when I specify to only sync 6 months of emails - it still seems to pull in all emails in an account (this could be 3 - 8 years of mails). How do I get Thunderbird to only pull in the last 6 months of emails?

Usually it means attempts to connect have failed, not necessarily that the password is the issue. As the account setup is coming from the ISPDB, the account has never actually been verified to work with the settings that were downloaded. Apparently there is an issue with those settings, but as you did not mention the provider I am at something of an impasse, other than to suggest you check the firewall (Internet security suite) is not blocking Thunderbird sending and receiving mail (ESET is the latest to cause major issues with connectivity in December) and the web setting of the account to ensure IMAP or POP mail is enabled (depending on which you chose to use)
