Primary email address
I need to change my primary email address but I cannot find a way to do that. All I can do is add a secondary email address, which won't stop emails going to my primary address, which no longer exists.

You should have added the secondary email address and confirm this email address when you still had access to the primary email address. Now all you can do is to create a new account with an email address you can confirm.
You can add a second email address and confirm this address. Once it has been confirmed, you can make the second email address your primary email address.
