I was going through my old history for some important history, and it accidentally deleted all history older than 6 months instead of the file that I had selected. Is there any way to restore the deleted browsing history. I have Windows 11 and have been unable to find the Index.dat file even after showing hidden folders and files.

Firefox uses a SQLite database named places.sqlite to store bookmarks and history. Firefox doesn't keep backup for history like there is for the bookmarks in the bookmarkbackups folder in the Firefox profile folder. You would need an older copy of places.sqlite to recover the lost history. Note that you lose newer bookmark if you restore an older copy of places.sqlite.

You can look a utility to browse System Restore points.
