When I click the RSS Feed button in the address bar, Firefox loads new tabs infinitely until I close the browser. Any help?

I may have caused this problem myself but I don't know how. I use a Google reader to read blogs. My routine is to click the blue RSS feed button, choose the Atom feed, and voila. This happens every time I use the button on my desktop iMac, so now if I want to choose a feed for a new blog I have to set it on my laptop.

Thanks for any help!

Check the Mailto application in Firefox > Preferences > Applications
Make sure that it isn't set to the Firefox application.

Thank you.

The Mailto application is set to Use Mail (default).

As for "Reset Download Actions," taking the first step brings up this message: "This might void your warranty!" Among other things it says "You should only continue if you know what you are doing."

I am no pro and this freaks me out a bit. Any recommendations? Take it to a pro? Or might there be an alternative?
