Just updated to the latest 3.6 Firefox and now gmail wont' or can't load content for a reply nor forward. It just sits there with the CPU meter pegged. Other portions of gmail work
Firefox just updated itself to the latest 3.6.12 and I allowed it to install this morning.
Now my gmail won't finish a 'reply' or 'forward'.
It just sits there 'loading' with no content ever coming up. The CPU meter is pegged.
It will discard and allow me to look at other emails, etc. Just won't load content from the email am trying to 'reply' or 'forward'.
I've allowed a 'new' script on gmail that wasn't there before today and wonder if it's firefox or gmail or both in contention?
I'll try to find HOW2 go back to the previous Firefox version (any help would save me time).
Thanks,
-Ben

PS....now find that nothing to do with a 'new' email will work either.
Tried to send a new, virgin, email and it just sits there 'loading'.
'Loading' goes away with any change (go to a folder, reload the page, etc).
Same here. I thought it had something to do with the theme but it wasn't. I cleared cookies and history but it only works if you use basic HTML.
I heard it had something to do with the Skype add-on but nothing works.
I can't believe I had to use IE, yuk! C'mon Firefox, pull your head out of your arses and fix 3.6.12.

Read this somewhere else: Can't find it again so can't reference - apols.
fixed by entering about:config into the nav bar
toggle dom.storage.enabled to 'true'
worked for me - but don't know what it does or why :)
Ditto, fixed mine by changing DOM to be 'true'
Dont' know if one or both Mozilla or Gmail, but thinking both due to the new 3.6.12 FireFox update and that Gmail now asks for permission for 'scripts:: googleusercotent'
Never seen nor had to allow that before.
So thinking Gmail added that script recently and the new 3.6.12 FireFox didn't match/work/etc.
Also, tried reloading Firefox with 'custom' install and try to get a DOM toggle in tools, but it doesn't come up for me. Had to use the 'about:config' in the nav bar
Really don't like to allow any additional scripts, but that is the only way to get Gmail to work.
Gmail or Google is now behaving more and more like the early and current Microsoft, of which I'd say is the 'new' MS of today...
Am not going to list this as 'solved' just yet. Hoping to not have to allow DOM on Firerfox and that script on Gmail.

DOM storage is basically an extension of cookies.
Cookies have limitations and DOM storage is added in HTML5 to overcome that.
See also https://developer.mozilla.org/en/DOM/Storage#Storage_location_and_clearing_the_data
Understand and know similar in family to all super cookies or flash cookies, etc
Call me paranoid, but I don't like to allow or at least clear them before and after each browser session. Don't know if CCleaner clears DOM or not and now that I think about it, will research that unless someone here knows for sure.
Upgraded to 3.6.12 and now my gmail will not load my contacts. Everything else seems to work with gmail except this. It hangs and displays message "loading" but the contacts never load and display. Tested using IE and it works fine there.
