Have Win XP Home Edition SP3 and had latest 3.6.12 version of Firefox. All has worked fine thru the years, until this week. After installing latest update for Foxit Reader and installing Skype for the first time (no betas used), FF will not open. I 2x click icon, and no window opens. Process is running in Task Manager only. Can use TM to kill the process, but same results. At times when I restart the PC, FF will open once, but not again. Have followed Mozilla's trouble shooting steps and uninstalled FF several times and removed all files and folders with the FF and Mozilla names to no avail. After several installs I first tried to open FF in the safe mode and it will not. Again it shows in TM. Tried the profile manager procedure to create another profile (none was evident until I created a default and alternate one) and was able to open FF once. I am at my wits ends over this, since I REALLY prefer to use the best and safest browser available. Now I cannot. I have fully removed Skype and tried again without success. Will uninstall Foxit reader and try again but not optimistic. Seems the issue relates to the profile manager. Are you able to help? Thanks much.
