First make sure that your home page is set to Google, for details of how to do that see the how to set the home page article. If you restore the home page to the default as shown in that article it will be a Firefox branded Google search page.

Next make sure that Firefox is set to open your home page when it starts. On the same part of the options dialog that you set the home page, for the setting "When Firefox starts", make sure it is set to "Show my home page".
