I have no idea whether the change is a whim of the designers, or something many users have provided feedback about or requested changes. The layout is customisable, it is easy to place separate buttons where you want them. Right click a blank area of the toolbar and select customise / customize. * Or use''' firefox button -> Options -> Toolbar Layout''' You can drag and drop buttons as you want, note the order of the stop and reload buttons makes a difference as to whether or not they combine.
