Old icons - where are they?
Re: Firefox 4. I want the small icon buttons that v 7.0.4 had. The rectangular buttons are too large when including text in v 7.0.9.

V 7.0.4? I can't help on the buttons but it would help others to clarify the versions you are talking about. Recent firefox versions have numbers like 3.6.17 and 4.0.1( which you now have).
Right click a blank part of the Tab bar and then click Customize. In the panel which opens, checkmark the option bottom left called: "Use small icons".
Thanks for the responses. My version is Firefox 4.0.1. The old version that had the good icons is 3.6.13. I know how to customize the toolbar but the new icon BOXES are too big when I check "Icons and Text". Even though I check the "Use Small Icons" box they are still a lot larger than the previous version of Firefox. The buttons are larger than necessary, plus, they have a gap between them that the old ones didn't. They simply take up too much room on the toolbar!
Try another theme.
