When shopping on-line and I try to go to my shopping cart or basket after adding items, nothing happens. The screen does not freeze but it does not automatically go to the basket or shopping cart. There is no particular site that it happens to, sometimes a site that was working previously, will not respond another day.

See if it works with Adblock Plus disabled. You can disable/enable from the ADP toolbar button. If that solves your problem the next step is to modify Adblock Plus so that the site will run with ADP enabled. The two main tools for ADP are

  • Open Blockable Items, and
  • Preferences

Thanks for the suggestion. I disabled Adblock Plus (ADP), even several of my other little used plugins and Add-Ons. I rebooted FF and tested the shopping basket, still no change.

If you created a hosts file to protect your system it might be blocked there, the hosts file has only one entry in it by default on Windows 7. If you don't know about the hosts file then you would not have made one or updated it.

I am using Windows XP Professional SP3. I never created a Host File, so I don't think one exists on my system.
