I've been using a Mac G5 (PowerPC) with OS 10.4 and I just bought an Intel-based iMac. How can I transfer all my Firefox settings (bookmarks, stored passwords, etc.) from the old version to the new one?

How can I transfer all my Firefox settings (bookmarks, stored passwords, etc.) from the old version to the new one? I tried to copy the settings folder in my library but I think the heirarchy is different in Lion. Any suggestions?

Hi,

You can synchronize your bookmarks, history, and passwords from your old machine to the new one using the Sync service. This article describes how to do so: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/How to sync Firefox settings between computers

Thanks, Michelle

I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I don't think that you can use Sync because Sync requires at least Firefox 4 after the Sync extension for Firefox 3.5/6 got removed.

You will have to copy the files manually to that new computer via an USB stick or CD-ROM or a network connection.
