Youtube playlist videos won't play continuously anymore
I have Win 7 and FF 18.0.1 The problem I am having is recent as this used to work okay.
When I go to Youtube and want to play a playlist of videos continuously it doesn't play continuously anymore. When the video page appears it appears with a bold red circle and a backslash in it and as soon as I hover my mouse over video part of the page the red circle disappears then I have to click on the play button in the center of the video page to get it to play. Then it plays that video and stops. Then I have to go through the same thing again to get the next video to play when all of the videos should play continuously until all are played and that is that way it used to work until just recently. I am guessing that I added a FF add on that is causing this problem. This has been going on for a few weeks and I thought nothing about it until today when I tried to play a continuous circuit of videos and now I don't remember what add ons I recently added. Of course I don't know that a FF add on is causing this problem. I can play the same playlist of videos with Internet Explorer and they play continuously the way they are supposed to play.

Thanks for the ideas all. Quite a bit of time has passed since I had this problem so I am not sure what was the cause. However I am thinking it ended up being Flashblock. Anyway I notice that I uninstalled Flashblock. But I am not sure because it seems like that was the first thing I uninstalled and that it didn't solve the problem. It's heck to be 81 years old and I can't even remember back a month and a half ago to what was done to solve this problem. Sorry about that all...
Thanks to everybody who had suggestions.

Sounds that you have an extension installed this is blocking those videos.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.
Thank you for your help cor-el.
So it is just as you and i suspected as when I ran in the safe mode without all of the addons the video playing worked normally.
Since this just happened recently it has to be some add on I installed recently. Is there anyway to find out what dates the add ons were installed. I am 81 years old and my memory is not very good and I can't remember which add ons were recently installed and I have a lot of add ons...
Any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Adblock Plus can block videos, so check for blocked objects.
You can try to add this filter rule in ABP.
- @@||youtube.com^$document
Thanks for the suggestion. That filter rule is already there.
I am going through my list of addons and picking ones that seem to be new to me and I will keep working on that.
Any other suggestions will be welcome.
Thank you again for your help.

After shutting down all of my addons I finally found the culprit and it was Toolbar Buttons 1.0 which I can hardly live without. I have had this addon installed for a long long time so then I was thinking that maybe something new that I added was causing some problems with it.
I left Toolbar Buttons enabled and shut all of the other addons and plugins down in small groups and with all of the addons and plugins shut down I still had the same problem as long as Toolbar Buttons was enabled. Toolbar Buttons hasn't been undated since sometime in 2011 so it isn't any change in this addon that is causing me the problem.
If I didn't really need Toolbar Buttons I would just shut it off However I have 18 icons that are up between the URL bar and the Search engine bar that I have got so used to I would have a hard time getting along without them.
This problem just started a few short weeks ago. I wonder what could be causing the problem??? Any ideas ANYBODY???
THANKS FOR ANY HELP GIVEN!!!

Some of those buttons may be available as separate extensions, so you can try a search on the Add-ons site.
Did you try to create a slimmed down version (toolbar_button_maker) with only the buttons that you need?
The only buttons I am using I think are for extensions that I have and am using and some of those buttons don't seem to be available anymore when I disable "Toolbar Buttons." and that I don't understand. I could be wrong about what I just stated though. Anyway when I disable "Toolbar Buttons" I lose 9 of the 18 buttons that I use. And when I look to "customize" none of those 9 buttons are available.
I had thought about making a slimmed down version using "Toolbar Button Maker." but didn't until now have any reason to do that. Do you think that if I did that that it may fix my problem???
The truth is I sure would like to know what it is that changed that is causing my problem since nothing has changed in "Toolbar Buttons" since some time in 2011
It is about more than this 81 year olddawg can take when I spend hours and hours getting everything on my computer working and looking just like I like it then some update or another or something else comes along and screws up things. Then I have to spend hours and hours more trying to figure out how to get everything back to how I like it. I just don't get it.??? Enuff of this olddawg crying stuff...haha...
Thanks for your help.

There is a button that turns 'flash' on and off in the toolbar buttons. I had the same problem with mine but when I turned on 'flash' it was okay. Try this! Like you this is the one extension that I use all the time. I also have Samfind which I find is great. It is a toolbar that I also use all the time.
