how to install INbox.com
I am trying to add an Inbox.com email into Thunderbird. No matter what I have tried, it does not allow it to use the facets Inbox claims to use in the Thunderbird client. Your faq's are no more than frustration, as is the community; as, no matter what I ask it always takes me to google, which I kind of despise. Thank you for your time.

first you need to make sure that the webmail account has either IMAP or POP forwarding selected.
http://www.inbox.com/faq_email.aspx?id=1388
Then you must create a mail account that uses what you selected IMAP or POP.
In thunderbird: File > New > Existing Mail Account or 3bar menu icon > New Messages > Existing Mail account
Enter you name Enter your full Inbox.com email address. Enter the password you use to access the Inbox.com webmail account. select to remember password. click on 'Continue' button
Thunderbird will attempt to locate the server configuration data If it cannot locate them or if the details shown are not correct eg: IMAP instead of Pop: click on 'Manual config' button and alter the details,
Use 'retest' button to check.
the smtp may not like port:25 so try 587
When happy click on 'Done' button.
IMAP setings: Incoming Server: imap.inbox.com Outgoing Server: smtp.inbox.com For Incoming server set Port number to 993 Connection security :select SSL/TLS Authentication method: Encrypted password For Outgoing server set Port number to 587 Connection security :select none Authentication method: Normal password
I think POP is: Incoming Server: pop3.inbox.com Outgoing Server: smtp.inbox.com For Incoming server set Port number to 110 Connection security :select none Authentication method: Encrypted password For Outgoing server set Port number to 587 Connection security :select none Authentication method: Normal password

Toad-Hall, I appreciate your response, however, it appears Inbox has not updated their site to maintain parity with the updates to T-bird as I have only had problems with their site. Gmail & Yahoo went like a breeze; however, according to Thunderbird, I always have this error: Configuration could not be verified - is the username or password wrong?
The answer to that question is no.
<question rescinded> I have gotten the client (finally lol) to give me an error report. It is telling me Imap is not available w/ Inbox.com. Appears only pop is allowed. oh well, I'm sorry to have bothered you with this.

I've just been to Inbox's 'how to's' it seems there's an activation for imap that needs to be toggled. <sighs heavily> who thought that up....
@Windblown, can you confirm the automatic account setup in Thunderbird works as expected once the IMAP option has been activated at INBOX.com?
