No favicons on bookmarks

In Firefox for Android (F 31.0 A 4.1.2) all saved bookmarks as well as those saved on the home screen have the default icon. In the bookmark it's the b/w earth icon and on the homescreen its an orange box with a white star in it. How can I make Firefox use the site's favicons?

Hi mcnesium, Unfortunately there is not feature or add on yet for this. [at least not for 33, https://addons.mozilla.org/mk/firefox/addon/favicon-picker-3/]

I believe they are discussing this for the future however https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=926139
