Cutting text and other issues

So I finally had enough of persistent and new issues in Chrome so I jumped ship. But apparently Firefox has even more bugs. The first thing I notice is that trying to edit text in an input field is maddeningly broken. It takes multiple attempts at long pressing to even bring up the text selection menu. It just sits there like I've done nothing. Even tapping to move the cursor is hit-or-miss. Then when it finally does come up, particularly on a forum the option to "cut" text isn't there- only select all, copy, paste, and share. And on this site for example I can't even see any options- the bar on the top of the screen flashes the options for a moment and then disappears. This happens when doing the same thing in the input field on Google's search page.

Page scrolling is jerky and slow as well . And this problem is probably an issue with Fleksy keyboard but typing a space doesn't move the cursor on the screen but continuing entering text shows that the space is there. There are other keyboard input problems as well but this one stands out.

I downloaded the current version (not beta) from the play store today and restarted my device afterwards. The device in question is a Galaxy Note Edge using Kit Kat 4.4.4

If there's no way to fix the text cutting problem then I'm done and moving to a different browser because this one is broken.

I suppose all of this could be keyboard related but I prefer this keyboard app over all others so changing isn't an option.

I switched to the samsung keyboard and the missing "cut" option persists on the other forum but on this site (and google) the text options show up fine now. The cursor/space problem is resolved as well.

So, like I thought, it's a combination of keyboard and Firefox problems. The forum in question uses XenForo software if that matters.
