Hello, if you were not aware -- Google has become the default search engine in US based installed of Firefox.

To change your search engine type in about:preferences#search in your URL bar, click on the drop down menu and choose your preferred search engine.

yes, i never had an issue with this... its the FIRST upgrade/update ever, where the "new" version disables the users search engine and ads another one, I think its a bug...

the issue is that after an update the browser shouldn't change search engine settings!

Sorry for the inconvenience. This happened once before when Mozilla signed a default search provider agreement with Yahoo. Recently Google replaced Yahoo. You can choose your preferred default again: Change your default search settings in Firefox.
