Hi

Was wondering if someone could help me out?

I have a couple of G suite gmail accounts set up in my Thunderbird. One of the Gmail accounts runs fine, the other runs really slowly.

Sending emails takes a long time, you click on a message it takes ages to open etc.

The problem is the same on 2 different computers.

These are some of the things i've tried:-

1. Archiving all emails pre 2018 in inbox and sent, so these emails have now moved to the All Mail Folder

2. deleting inbox.msf

3. Repair folder

4. Deleting the email account and starting again. The problem re-occurs after it's downloaded them.

I would like to try unsubscribing from certain folders but when i click on "Manage Subscriptions", it just says please wait. On the other Gmail account it comes up instantly.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Also just an update to this. I've noticed that i keep getting the white rectangular box in the bottom right hand side corner of my screen where it's telling you a new email is coming through, but it's just blank. I can close thunderbird, go to task manager and shut down the background process and it disappears. Then I re-open thunderbird the problem goes away for 10 mins then i get the problems as above and the box appears again.

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:

  • Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
  • Restart the operating system in safe mode with Networking. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: Windows 10, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, OSX
If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

Tried all of them, the problem still persists. It happens on 2 different computers with 2 different anti virus programs. One has AVG, the other has windows defender.
