I moved from PlusNet to Virgin Media over a year ago, and edited my Thunderbird account settings to change all references to my old mail.plus.net mailboxes and usernames to their Virginmedia equivalents. I noticed that the changed accounts had no passwords stored in Password Manager, so followed the procedure to reset them on the web client page, and clicked the save to Password Manager on resetting in TB.

However the details shown on in PW Manager continue to show the old mail.plus, net mailbox path, along with the obsolete usernames that used to be associated with those accounts, neither of which appear anywhere in the updated account details: eg: Site: mailbox://mail.plus.net Username: dadween+graham should read

Site: mailbox://pop3.virginmedia.com Username: graham

There is an option to edit the username, but not the site information. I cannot for the life of me locate where it is picking that up from.

Please can you advise.

Now sorted. Found it in Tools/Options/Advanced/General/Config Editor.

However I must have inadvertently done something which caused my local folder containing all my archived emails to disappear. Fortunately I have a regular disk image backup regime in place, so was able to restore my profiles default folder in its entirety.

I then decided upon the easier approach of deleting the accounts in question and re-creating them again from scratch.
