I desperately need help. I use a certain website every day, for years, to earn my income. Never a problem until 3 days ago. I went to site like usual and got "We are experiencing some technical issues, try again". Under that says 400 BAD REQUEST and then says Refresh. I did Refresh and still got same message. Tried other browsers, same thing.400 BAD REQUEST Went to friends today, used her laptop and got in. How can I get this 400 BAD REQUEST off my computer using Firefox ? Tried everything I know.

This issue can be caused by corrupted cookies.

Clear the Cache and remove the Cookies from websites that cause problems via the "3-bar" Firefox menu button (Options/Preferences).

"clear the Cache:

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"

"Remove the Cookies" from websites that cause problems.

  • Options/Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> "Use custom settings for history" -> Cookies: "Show Cookies"

Thank you. I did all of the above like you suggested, but oddly under cookies, the site I am trying to reach is not even in my history. I don't know what to do. When I went to Cached Web Content, I hit Clear now but did not see anything happen. Was I supposed to click on "override automatic cached management " first ?? I am so frustrated. Do i need to completely shut down , restart my computer for your suggestion to work ?

Hi, no. please try a Refresh but Note that this does more than uninstalling and re-installing does. Normal uninstalling does not remove some preferences which may have become corrupt. Please Refresh but do this 1st: Delete your Cookies and Cache and TEST.

then

TEST....... If no issues then Extensions which need to be added back in 1 at a time and tested ..... Or it is your Profile : Make a new one and test ...:

If is your Profile :

Note: Any customization will revert back to default, you will also need to reinstall Extensions.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Note : There is security software like Avast, Kaspersky, BitDefender and ESET that intercept secure connections and send their own certificate which cause issues. If running these please check their community forums for the same issue and also update.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History -> Show All History" or "View -> Sidebar -> History").

Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like cookies and passwords and cache and exceptions, so be cautious. If you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.

You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of involved files.

If you revisit a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
